Located in the serene town of Amirthakali, Batticaloa, our school's history is deeply rooted in the rich heritage of this coastal region. Nestled near the picturesque estuary, our institution's journey began in 1847, under the visionary guidance of Father Rafael Strot. With a small group of eager children and a modest schoolhouse measuring a mere 10x16 square feet, the seeds of education were sown.

In its early years, our school was a haven for boys, situated amidst a forested area that provided a tranquil backdrop for learning. Over time, the legacy of education grew, thanks to the dedication of educators like Sir S.D. Thangathurai. Under his leadership, the school expanded to a size of 10x60 square feet, with a team of 17 passionate teachers, shaping the minds of the community's youth.

Our school's history also bears witness to the resilience of our community. In the face of the devastating tsunami, our institution stood strong, a testament to the unwavering spirit of our students, staff, and the local community. During this challenging period, English benefactors stepped in to support us in rebuilding our school.

Notably, every Monday, our school day would begin with English observers, a tradition that helped shape our institution's character and excellence.
